Students must be at least 18 years of age by the end of the first academic year after enrolment at LIS. Don’t worry if you don’t meet this age requirement – you can always apply to future cohorts. Simply send us an email (hello@lis.ac.uk) and we’ll keep you updated.

We welcome A-levels, Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers, Irish Leaving Certificate, Welsh Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, German Abitur, Italian Maturita, and International Baccalaureate. Please get in touch if you are unsure whether your qualifications will be accepted.

An international student is someone who does not have “settled” status in the UK and would need to apply for a visa to study in the UK.

We have received a sponsorship license which means we are able to welcome international students onto the course. Please get in touch if you have questions about your status in the UK or your application as an international student.

All non-Home students will be asked at the point of application to complete an additional step, which is the completion of a short personal statement on why they are applying for the LIS programme. Non-Home students who are successful in passing this step will then be invited to a Selection Day.

The LIS degree is taught in English. To derive full benefit from and succeed in passing our degree, you must be able to understand and express yourself in English (reading and listening, speaking and writing). If you’ve been taught and assessed in English or have been working in the English language for the past two years or longer, you do not need to provide an English language qualification.

If, however, you have not been attending a school where classes, coursework, and assessments were conducted in English for the past two years or longer, or if you have not been working in the English language for the past two years or longer, you will be asked to specify any English language qualifications that you hold. We will also ask that you email a copy of your qualification transcript to admissions@lis.ac.uk

All English language qualifications must be no more than two years old to be valid.

If you have not been taught and assessed in English for the past two years or longer and do not have a valid or current English language qualification, you will be required to sit an English language test.

LIS has been granted degree-awarding powers by the higher education regulator in England, the Office for Students (OfS).
